Forest City Ratner’s Atlantic Yards development has all but come to a standstill. Developer Bruce Ratner has only been talking about two of the sixteen towers to be built, and they are delayed, the “Miss Brooklyn” tower that was to be the project’s centerpiece has been nixed due to inability to find a long-term tenant, and construction has not begun on the new New Jersey Nets arena. The Brooklyn Paper blames lack of public review for the project, misleading information, lawsuits, and economic downturn for the delays. Forest City CEO Charles Ratner told investors that the developer continues to be committed to the project.
